How to keep your training projects from failing

The road to success for a training project of any size is littered with challenges. Projects fail often, 70 percent of the time according to research by 4pm.

Think bigger is better? Think again. The failure rate of projects with budgets over $1 million is 50 percent higher than the failure rate of projects with budgets below $350,000, according to a Gartner study.

Furthermore, cost overruns on projects, on average, clock in at 27 percent. One in six have a cost overrun of 200 percent and a schedule overrun of almost 70 percent according to Harvard Business Review. Think that’s going to make the guys in Finance happy?

And 73 percent of respondents to a Geneca study admitted their projects are either always or usually “doomed right from the start.”
